Ella flota entre el mundo de los vivos y el de los muertos. El agua lechosa borra el cuerpo y solo deja el rostro de catrina y las flores de cempasúchil, las mismas que en México marcan el camino de regreso a casa. No se hunde ni se va: se queda, mirando de frente, como quien sabe que la muerte también es un ritual de cuidado.
She floats between the world of the living and the world of the dead. The milky water erases her body, leaving only the painted face of La Catrina and the marigolds — the same flowers that, in Mexico, light the path home for those who return. She neither sinks nor leaves: she stays, gazing straight back, as if death too were a ritual of care.
